Welcome Martin Camacho, Co-Founder & President at Suno on this episode of 🔥The Lantern 🔥 Martin has been a musician his whole life, playing piano since he was 3 years old, and he’s played classical & jazz piano ever since. The Suno co-founders all played music together at their previous company, where they coincidentally were also working on cutting edge Audio AI. The birth of Suno was an opportunity to combine the fun of creating music with powerful AI tools, built by technologists & musicians. That's how Suno got started! 🔍 What is Martin responsible for at Suno scaling their rapidly growing team? 🔎 Suno is in a really large growth phase. They’ve gone from 8 people huddled around a conference room in 2023 to 40 at the beginning of 2025 to almost 100 today (Fall 2025). Martin is focused on collaborating cross functionally with Engineering, Marketing & Product leadership to keep the ship running and get great products out to their users. 🔍 What’s going on inside Suno in 2025? 🔎 Over 50 million people have used the Suno web & mobile app! Creators have had millions of plays on the platform, songs have gone viral and made it into the media, and creators have gotten signed by record labels. The creative community that has been built on Suno has been really impactful, watching all the different ways people can create and play with music - remixes, poems, voice notes, prompts, and more! 🤔 What are the key initiatives Martin & his team are working on to build this company to support millions of consumers? 🤔 Suno Studio is a big initiative their team has been hard at work on (waitlist link in the comments!). Their team is building an audio workstation in the browser that has a lot of AI features baked in. Suno Studio will be a pretty fresh & new way to produce music and the Suno team thinks people are going to have a lot of fun with it! There were a lot of technical, machine learning, and design challenges that went into this product! More broadly, their team is focused on continuing to build new and interesting ways for people to engage creatively with music. Some of those features will need to be on the desktop and some will be tailored for mobile. Last, they’re building new ways for creators to discover and share music on Suno, better showcasing their creativity to the world! Look for continued releases in the months ahead from Suno, one of our leading AI startups here in Boston!
