Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein have said the UK is "setting the standard" when it comes to holding people who appear in the Epstein files to account, while in the US there is "a lack of motivation" to get justice for victims. Sharlene Rochard, Liz Stein, and Danielle Bensky say they were sexually assaulted by Epstein and have travelled to the UK to speak to British MPs. They are calling on Peter Mandelson, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and other people in positions of power to provide evidence about the convicted paedophile. Sharlene, who was abused by Epstein for around a decade, having been introduced to him when she was 16 or 17 years old, told Good Morning Britain on Wednesday that while survivors "appreciate" that MPs are "taking this seriously", they also need to put pressure on the US to have more people provide evidence. People who remained friends with Epstein after his conviction, such as Peter Mandelson and Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, "need to stand up and be completely transparent with what had happened and show accountability", she said. "We want accountability, we want transparency," she added. The former Prince and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have both denied any wrongdoing. Danielle Bensky, who was 17 years old when she met Epstein, said the UK "does seem to be setting the standard" on the Epstein files, and that the United States needs to be doing more. "The rest of the world does seem to be following suit, except for the US... [We're] not sure why we're not seeing the level of accountability that we need to, but it's why we desperately need investigations into what is in the files." Liz Stein, who was approached by Ghislaine Maxwell when she was 21, said people in authority "need to be transparent about what they saw and what they know". "At the very base, we know that they saw things and that they know things. Nobody should be above the law, and anyone else in this situation would be brought in, questioned, and made to talk about and testify about what they saw."
