In the 1970's Oral Robert University sponsored many prime time TV specials with youthful themes to lore students to their campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and to raise money for the Roberts' organization. No matter what you thought of Roberts' organization or methods, the specials were amazingly produced. Here are the featured music performers from those specials doing folk & country tunes that were the 'greatest hits' of the day. Selected from three of the primetime specials, Patti Roberts, the fine vocal quartet, Reflection, the youthful World Action Singers and Oral Roberts son, and Patti's former husband, Richard sing Country Roads, I Guess I'll Go Back Home, Green Green, A Place in the Sun, Back Home Again, I Can See Clearly Now, Born Free, That Lucky Old Sun, Top of the World, To the Ends of the Earth, and It's a Big Wide Wonderful World. These clips were from shows done on location in Alaska and Stone Mountain Georgia, as well as in the Roberts' Tulsa Studios. Ralph Carmichael did the arranging and conducting. The shows also attracted rather big name guest artists like The Lennon Sisters, Johnny Cash, Robert Goulet, June Carter Cash, etc. The Roberts organization later fell on hardtimes with an illadvised expansion into the medical field, and, most recently, with scandals by Richard and his latest wife that made ugly headlines, prompted rumors, and led to Richard's resignation from heading the college.
