Hey everyone, Martin I’m halfway through my summer trip to Tokyo, and in today’s video, I’m taking a walk through the city and just having a chat with you — no big plan, just some time to slow down and reflect. If you’ve been following my channel, you know I usually share stories from rural Japan — the inaka — where life moves at a slower pace. But this week, I’ve been immersed in the fast-moving energy of Tokyo in the middle of a serious heatwave. I’ve spent the past few days reconnecting with people I’ve met online over the years — it’s been a real highlight of the trip. I caught up with: – Paprika Girl – Gaijin Mommy – Alfie Goodrich, an incredible photographer – and fellow YouTubers Kayde & Eric These conversations have been inspiring, grounding, and just a reminder of the kind of community that can come out of shared experiences across borders. In this video, I wander into a small Shinto shrine — totally unplanned — and take a moment to enjoy the quiet. These little moments of peace in a busy place really stand out, especially when you're used to life in the countryside. The rest of the vlog is just me talking with you, reflecting on how Tokyo feels this time around, what I’ve been noticing, and what’s next. This is a very relaxed, conversational vlog — something like a postcard from the middle of the trip. Thanks for being here. Whether you're a longtime subscriber or new to the channel, I’m glad you’re along for the journey. — 📍 Filmed in Tokyo, Japan – July 2025 🌞 Summer heat, city sounds, spontaneous shrine moments 🎥 Casual walk-and-talk vlog – ~20 minutes 🌾 From inaka to inner Tokyo – sharing thoughts, experiences, and good people 👇 If you enjoy these kinds of reflective, unscripted travel vlogs from Japan, consider subscribing for more countryside life, small town stories, and occasional Tokyo trips.
