COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) - For two weeks Jody Boram and his brother David Seibert have been part of the construction crew building the Hotel Covington on Madison Avenue. On Tuesday, April 12, the two were cleaning up when they heard a woman yelling for help in the City Center Parking Garage. "We heard a lady screaming up there and I was nervous about it, there was something wrong. We turned around the corner and the guy was running down the stairs with a purse," said Boram. The two acted swiftly and gave chase. Around the corner they caught up with 29-year-old Corey Miller. Miller is accused of robbing three people within an hour near Scott Street Tuesday. The third victim tried to chase down Miller after police said he pulled out a knife on the woman and took her purse. "She came down after him saying, 'He stole my purse' and he started running and that's when I was like, 'Let's get him,'" said Seibert. Boram said he grabbed the purse from Miller and a wallet fell out of it. "I stepped on the wallet when it fell out and I grabbed him in a headlock and dropped him," said Seibert. Shortly after the capture, the two flagged down Covington Officers who were patrolling the area after taking the two other reports. Miller is facing three robbery charges and is being held on $135,000 cash bond. If convicted Miller faces 10-50 years in prison.
