Today’s upload is especially meaningful to me, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it. This video features the very truck that helped shape my journey to where I am today at RAD. Back in 2023, Eli and I traveled to Driggs, Idaho, in hopes of finding this truck—uncertain whether it was even still operational. Fortunately, luck was on our side. As we arrived in town, we found this 1999 Volvo Heil Pack front loader actively running routes and doing exactly what it was built to do. What makes this video truly special is the recent passing of the truck’s driver. I had the privilege of learning from, working alongside, and being guided by an incredible individual who was a respected and valued member of the RAD family. Coincidentally, during the same week of his passing, “Big Blue” was taken out of service due to transmission issues. Both the driver and his truck passed within a 48-hour period. This video is dedicated to an extraordinary man who devoted nearly a decade to caring for and operating Big Blue. Thank you for everything.
