This Duo-Art piano roll is a 1970s compilation of four different DA rolls issued in the 1920's, each with one "Toy March" popular at the time. The selections are: 1) "The Toymaker's Dream" (DA# 104127, April 1929) played by composer Ernie Golden 2) "The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" (DA# 1832-5, December 1922) by Leon Jessel, played by Mills and Brooks. 3) "March of the Toys" (DA# 6352-9, October 1920) from "Babes in Toyland" by Victor Herbert, played by Rudy Erlebach and Frank Milne 4) "March of the Little Lead Soldiers" (DA# 7239-4, June 1928) Op. 14 No. 6 by Gabriel Pierne, played by Harold Bauer and Myra Hess. This heavily-damaged and disassembled Steinway player piano came to Historic Pianos for restoration in 2009, and has been playing well with minimal maintenance for almost 10 years since, as this recently captured video shows.
