"Tomorrow's pipe organ recital at 12:15pm is set to be an exciting one with young Brazilian organist, Cristiano Rizzotto, on the organ bench. Born, raised, and educated in Rio de Janeiro, Mr. Rizzotto is now a masters degree candidate in organ performance at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina -- one of North Carolina's smaller state universities which boasts an absolutely top-notch organ and choral department. Cristiano is quickly making a name for himself here in the United States and in addition to his appearance at National City he has a fair number of recital bookings in the coming months. It's a wonderful honor to be featuring another of the many "up and coming" young organists! Mr. Rizzotto's program tomorrow opens and closes with a true pipe organ "bang"! The opening work is Jean Langlais' fiery "Hymne d'action de graces 'Te Deum'. A rarely heard suite of colorful variations by German composer Hugo Distler follows the Langlais, and the program continues with Dietrich Buxtehude's showy Prelude, Fugue and Chaconne in C Major, and a set of festive Noel variations by 17th century French composer Claude Balbastre.
