My apartment feels like I am living in one of my paintings - and it's a wonderful feeling!

well, yikes, I posted this video yesterday and today the first half of it disappeared! Sorry if you saw it that way - it was probably confusing. So, anyway, I redid the first half and am reposting and I hope you get a chance to look at it again. I'm a 75+ year old artist, happily creating in Portland, Oregon. My channel is about choosing joy, finding joy in my daily life practices and sharing that joy wtih others. I do that through art making, walking and storytelling and creating YouTube videos about my journey. I believe art has the power to heal, change lives for the better, improve communities and, well, make the world a better place for everyone. And I believe you are never too old to make art, regardless of your circumstances or challenges. Over the past 10 years, I've had my share of health challenges (cancer, brain aneurysms, a broken spine), not to mention the regular challenges that come with aging. I am happy to say I am on the other side of those issues now and extremely happy and grateful to be able to keep walking a creative path and hopefully inspiring others to join me or go on a journey to discover their own creative path. Speaking of walking, walking daily has become my one non- negotiable practice and so I've added my walks to my videos. But, what ties everything together for me, is storytelling: while i'm walking, making art, or telling stories in my paintings. I am skilled in many mediums and methods, having been a profesional illustrator for many year and spending most of my adult life creating art to sell. My focus now isn't so much on selling. I find myself more likely to be supporting charitable causes, having events in my backyward to help friends and neighbors explore different art techniqus, making and "abandoning" art around Portland and, lately, exploring some challenging techniques to keep myself learning new things.
