We continue our adventure by taking on the second split of Radical Red. In this split, we don’t get that many encounters; only 3 new encounters in Carnivine, Cottonee, and Petilil. However, we do get a ton of new evolutions including but not limited to Floragato, Dartrix, Brambleghast, Breloom, Ludicolo, Leavanny, and Sinistcha. These evolutions are massive upgrades to our team. In terms of major trainers, we have four to face in Archer, Blue, Bugsy, and Misty. Archer and Blue aren’t too bad. Archer gets handled by Lombre, Roselia, and Floragato. Blue involves making use of more of my team but it was overall quite manageable. Bugsy was the real challenge of this split of the game. Despite having only 4 Pokémon, having Bug-types means pretty bad news for our Grass-type team. Even with this disadvantage though, there is a way to defeat him. For the lead Lokix, Leavanny is a good answer to it. I didn’t realize I could teach Leavanny Lunge which I believe would’ve been enough to one-shot it. For Scizor, Jumpluff can put it to sleep in order to 1v1 it. Scyther is harder to find a reliable answer for. It ends up being a massive threat that requires most of our team to take on, especially once it sets up with Swords Dance. Last is Ledian which Dartrix can 1v1 as long as he has a Yache Berry and knows Sucker Punch. It was a difficult battle, but it was still possible all the same. Now while Bugsy was a difficult roadblock to overcome, Misty was an absolute cakewalk. Having a type advantage is already one step to sealing a guaranteed victory but with Sinistcha, this battle is trivial. After taking down the lead Frogaider with Leavanny, we switch in Sinistcha to solo the rest of her team. Stun Spore and Hex have excellent synergy here, taking advantage of slowed down opponents to deal massive damage. Not even the specially defensive Clodsire can tank more than 2 Hexes before going down. This results in an easy and deathless victory against Misty which is great to see.
