About This Workshop: Abdullateef Al-Qasemi (English Language Institute, King Abdulaziz University), demonstrates how university and EFL instructors can use Google's Gemini Canvas as an expert instructional design assistant—not just another AI chatbot. Discover how to transform the static texts, PDFs, and activities you already use into interactive, formative, and inclusive learning experiences in minutes rather than hours. In this video, you will learn to: ● Transform Static Content: Convert materials into self-marking quizzes and multi-step learning hubs with instant, actionable feedback. ● Support All Learners: Instantly differentiate content across CEFR levels (A1–C2) and provide multimodal scaffolds for SEN learners (e.g., Text-to-Speech, visuals, bilingual hints). ● Align with Pedagogy: Ground your AI-generated activities in the clear learning outcomes of the Cambridge Integrated Learning and Assessment (ILA) Framework. ● Master Prompt Engineering: Use a six-element template to design effective prompts that generate precise, culturally appropriate, and classroom-ready content. ● Embed Formative Assessment: Utilize "Practice vs. Test" modes and "Deep Dive" explanations to give students rich, automated feedback at scale. ● Integrate AI Responsibly: Apply ethical practices focused on accuracy, student privacy, transparency, and essential teacher oversight. Target Audience: This session is designed for university lecturers, EFL/ESL instructors, curriculum designers, and teacher trainers who want practical, research-informed ways to save preparation time and strengthen assessment for learning.
