PRS©The Psychology of Round and Square After 50 Years, or ever since 1976, when we created and developed the “universal communication system” for the purpose of providing peer counseling and counseling with a universal language at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville. Ever since 2020 during COVID, we have decided to revitalize this universal and global counseling once again at this post Master degree in 1976, as we have reformatting the same system today under the environment of the present day and the on going Digital Age, with the added tools of AI, or AIWI© (From the Chinese way use and interepreting AI, with the added human wisdom). The PRS® Psychology of Round and Square, with its added multi-cultural, cross-cultural, and Transcultural dimensions, after the last fifty years of absence from the area of academia and education, but with our past 50 years of professional business in the same global and intercultural settings, we have literally enriched” much more the use and application of counseling in its global settings. In 1974, we were ready to move forward with the existing 3C Counseling System and engage our work at a higher level as we awaited finding suitable programs in Psychology, psycholinguistics, and beyond. Nevertheless, with our entry into the private and global business environment, we have been provided with broader perspectives, along with the cultures surrounding “Economics”. We literally had furnished the much needed research by our own personal finance and funding with our business engaged to almost all corners of the world and with the working conditons with also its range of times past and present — our engagement with the trrade of minerals and precious tones had granted us a broad range of business spectrum and business that literally had given us the broader global perspectives beyond academia. We are ready and much better prepared for this new phase with our return to continue to present once again the next stage from the earlier 3C Counseling System, with those three (3) Cs of: CD©Communication Dynamics /CS©Cultural Spheres/CA©Communication Analytics, which involves the full participation of the counselor/counselee interaction, where in the sharing of the CS© Cultural Sphere which was the Center of joint development involving the academic preparation of the individual student/s. The system also uses its own metric system, CA©Cultural Analytica, which provides measurable results. The system involves not only the grasp of the use of psychology first, but also its adaptation with both the Freudian and, later, Eric Berne’s ego-states, shown in his work with TA-Transactional Analysis. From the Freudian ego states of: superego-ego-id, to the Berne’s: Parent-Adult-China, but in the use of the TA’s shapes of round spheres, is where we have also adapted and changed those shapes into the more dynamic actions by reshaping them in the three (3) shapes with: Round, Square and Triangle, which this “triangle” shapes is merely the derivative of tthe turning of the square. I was one of the earliest cross-cultural psychologists at that time — born in Shanghai, China, with a family already handling 4+ dialects and two languages, my father fluent in French and a graduate of the Sorbonne in France. Mother is from the Pearl River Delta, and she handles Cantonese and the Guangxi dialect. Her use of Guan Hua (present-day Putonghua), and her father’s native tongue is Yuyao, Zhejiang (same heritage and village as Wang Yang Ming, Chinese thinker/Philosopher from the Ming era), with the added English during our age of Diaspora onto HK and Macau, and the eventual migration to São Paulo, Brazil. As we all will share the added linguistics with the good started with the Salesian Schools in both Macau and Brazil — the early start with the Latin mass and while singing Latin with Gregorian chants — It has added to all the broader impacts with our development of the rest of the three Roman/Latin languages and their fluency in Portuguese/Spanish and Italian. These life experiences with the cross-cultural, transcultural and the multple linguistics experience had their other significant contributions to have now the full developments with PRS©The Psychology of Round and Square — It is a journey to have allowed me and us to be in touch with these following areas of study and research: Linguistics, psycholinguistics, psycho-cultural linguistics, cultural anthropology with all their links with human psychology — making our day-to-day psychology moving from the era or the CS©Cultural Sphere of Sigmund Freud is time and period, with Victorian Era, and gradully, by the input and the studies of Adler, Jung, Maslow, May, Fromm, Suzuki, Rogers, Perls —from therapeutic and analytical psychology in to now the open area of educational and counseling psychology.
