Agritourism is an increasingly popular strategy for farmers and ranchers who are looking to increase and diversify revenue, market products, and connect with the community. Deciding which activities are right for your business, figuring out how to navigate relevant regulations, and understanding how to get started can be overwhelming. This workshop will explore opportunities and benefits, as well as considerations and challenges, for incorporating agritourism into your farm business, with a spotlight on the emerging enterprise of low-impact, camping-based agritourism. Experienced operators and agritourism professionals will share insights, lessons learned, and resources to help guide you through assessing if agritourism is right for you, including how to find and interpret which local regulations may apply to your agritourism activities. Guido Frosini, True Grass Farms Gregory Nelson Susan Kegley Rachael Callahan, UCANR, Statewide Agritourism Coordinator Cassandra Prenn-Vasilakis, Hipcamp, Government and Community Relations Manager # This workshop took place as part of the 2022 California Small Farm Conference, hosted by CAFF: Community Alliance with Family Farmers.
