Cathy had the rare opportunity to sit down with Randy Jackson of the band Zebra, at soundcheck on his 40-year anniversary tour. During the conversation Randy shared stories behind the music and maybe a few secrets you didn't know, including how he keeps his voice in shape, how the band got their name, and how and why they became and remained a trio. Zebra formed in 1975, and their mainstream debut album with Atlantic Records in 1983 went Gold, with the band quickly making the MTV video rotation. Randy Jackson was recognized for his high vocal ability as well as his guitar playing. Zebra gained a devoted fan base, touring and sharing stages with the biggest acts in rock, but they were often underrated by critics. In 2010 and 2012, respectively, the band was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame and continues to play to devoted fans across the country. In January, 2025, Cathy will share the stage with Randy again at the annual Bubba Bash in honor of Neil Peart. Randy will be one of the guest performers joining famed Rush Tribute Band YYNOT and other guests for a night celebrating the music of RUSH to raise money for brain cancer research.
