Welcome to the first season of the San Jose State Spartans’ Program Rebuild, inside of College Football ’25! If you have been following along to me, you will know that I do both Madden Rebuilds and College Football Rebuilds. I have only done one College Football Rebuild so far, but I think it’s been a pretty good success so far. We wrapped Season 1 at the end of November, took a break in December, and now we are getting right into Season 2 at the beginning of 2025, which will be coming out simultaneously as this one. Just like that rebuild, there is a new head coach taking over the program and his name is Yusef Alexxis. He is making the transition from International Futbol (soccer) to College Football. He is highly regarded as one of the best leaders in all of sports, so the Athletic Department and Alumni Association at San Jose State is more than happy that he accepted their five-year offer. Let’s see if he can make the transition to stateside football and bring his leadership to drive this program out of the dumps and into the future. He is being aided by the breaking news that came out a week before his hire, that the Pac-12 would be getting back together. In a record-breaking deal, the Pac-12 was able to lure away 12 college football programs to join Oregon State and Washington State in what was left of the Pac-12 after programs like Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA all bolted for the Big 10. Those programs are Arizona (Big 12), Arizona State (Big 12), California (ACC), Fresno State (Mountain West), Hawaii (Mountain West), Nevada (Mountain West), New Mexico (Mountain West), New Mexico State (C-USA), San Diego State (Mountain West), Stanford (ACC), UNLV (Mountain West) and yours truly San Jose State (Mountain West). They will be split between two divisions – Coastal and City – and have a Pac-12 Championship Game once again (So-Fi Stadium). It’s a wonderful time to be a college football fan, especially if you have missed the Pac-12 of old. This new era of Pac-12 football is hoping to raise their prestige to match the level that the Big 10 and SEC are clawing at achieving.
