This bike is capable, and will shepherd you through everything from epic gran fondos and weekend training rides, to short, punchy Tuesday night criteriums with snappy responsiveness and speed. The S7 carries over Polygon's 2016 updates to its ACX carbon endurance frame, and is built from the same Toray T-700 and high-modulus carbon fibre as its predecessors. Together with the design upgrades, it delivers a ride for the more sophisticated palate. First, you will notice the outright stiffness, created with the taped headtube. This provides exceptional handling during descents and sprints. This is complemented with the beefy Shimano pressfit BB86 bottom bracket. This wider bottom bracket shell anchors the oversized drive spine, solidly transferring power to the drivetrain while reducing watt-sucking lateral movement. It’s the broad notes of comfort that really lingers with the rider, however, with the narrower, flat-section seat stays absorbing any jarring road noise. Furthermore, the fork with tapered steerer, has carbon layered in a specific way to ensure that there is a level of vertical compliance whilst still maintaining that ever important, horizontal rigidity. The drivetrain is dripping with technology too with the Shimano 105 groupset featuring high-performance dual pivot alloy brakes, a 50/34 crankset along with an 11/28 cassette to help you keep that magical cadence you need for long rides, regardless of the terrain. The shifters are silky smooth and the chain easily finds its sprocket with the 105 derailleurs. The S7 rolls on a set of lightweight Entity XL3 wheels with aero spokes and sealed bearing hubs wrapped in Schwalbe Lugano clincher 700x25c tyres. Completing the bike are lightweight, hydroformed and butted Entity Xpert components including short drop handlebar, stem, seatpost and saddle.
