North Ayrshire -best location for sea kayaking?

It may sound surprising, but having paddled most everywhere in Scotland worth visiting, North Ayrshire comes up tops for the day paddle. This is due to the great variety of short - or longer - trips available, different lengths of open crossings, open seas and various channels and islands, tidal currents, and a choice of launching and landing places. So whilst lacking the drama of other locations, there is just nowhere else that presents such a variety of paddles and sea conditions, and the paddler can choose from easy to very challenging, on all but the worst of weathers.
