Why are Deluxe Album releases so confusing lately??

Between wildly varying album release schedules to maximize chart positioning, bonus track shenanigans, and physical versions straight up missing songs otherwise on streaming services, "deluxe" versions of albums have become tough to keep up with lately... Deluxe edition albums are great for getting new songs and/or some fun bonus content from albums and artists you love, but have they started getting too convoluted in the mad rush rule the charts and maximize streaming revenue?
