"Pochito” is a work inspired by the brass bands of northern Chile. Its title comes from the Quechua word "Pocho", an ancestral vessel used to store food, symbolizing a feeling of fullness and shared happiness. The piece begins with a huayno that evokes the vastness of the Atacama Desert, and then bursts into the vibrant energy of the diablada, recalling the strength and devotion of La Fiesta de La Tirana. A musical celebration that leaves us “pochitos” — overflowing with joy.
