Endo | 561 P.2d 1291 (1977) Collecting on a judgment can be difficult. Two car-accident victims discovered just how difficult in Sawada versus Endo, which hinged on a transfer of property held as a tenancy by the entirety. Masako and Helen Sawada were injured when Kokichi Endo hit them with his car. The Sawadas sued Endo for damages. On the date of the accident, Endo and his wife owned a piece of property as tenants by the entirety. Before Endo received the summonses and complaints from the Sawadas, he and his wife conveyed this property to their sons. The sons paid no consideration for this transfer. They knew that their father had injured the Sawadas in an accident and that he carried no liability insurance. The Endos continued to live on the property. The trial court awarded the Sawadas damages. Shortly thereafter, Endo’s wife died. The Sawadas tried to collect their damages from Endo but met with nothing but frustration. They sued again, requesting that the court set aside the Endos’ conveyance of the property to their sons on the grounds that the conveyance was fraudulent and intended to hide the property from creditors.
