This means that about 925 million people are today under undernourished because the daily intake of recommended calories in the body is less than 2100 calories. Experts say that in the world today there is enough food to feed the 7 billion people today. However, millions of people are hungry because they can not buy food for the sake of poverty, or are wthout land, so they can not produce the necessary food for their family (source: FAO - food and agriculture organization of the united nations) WHAT A WORLD EAT? (01:31) Represent how awareness about how environments and cultures influence the cost and calories of the world’s dinners, also WATER: (02:36) 884 million people have unsuitable access to safe drinking water Water consumption is growing at a rate more than that twice the rate of population growth iIn the last century Hydropower represents around 20% of the world production of electric energy (source: WHO & UNICEF) 70% of the Earth is covered with water Only 2.5% of water on Earth is potable (Sweet) water Over 70% of drinking water is in the glaciers and Ice cover There is plenty of water left in the groundwater ENRGY: (05:00) Approximately 2 billion people without access modern energy World energy consumption will increase 36% between 2008 and 2035 (source:IEA) Energy production contributes through 80% of global greenhouse gas emissions (source: IIASA) Global urbanization and energy Growth of the population of South Asia, China and the region Africa in urban environments increases with increased rates Residents of urban areas use several times more energy and energy from different sources than is used in rural environments.
