http://moviereviewsandmore.com In this exclusive interview, Brian Sebastian speaks with writer/director Stacie Passon and producer Rose Troche about their movie Concussions and lead character "Abby"--played by Robin Weigert--a lesbian wife and mother who gets hit on the head with a baseball and decides she wants more from life. This need manifests itself as the desire to become a hooker. "The fantasy of a lesbian hooker.. I thought it was an interesting, classic character," stated Passon. "You don't come across very classic characters anymore. [Abby's character] was this kind of lightning rod for all of this thought to go around her, which I really like in the writing process. I like the ability to take a very interesting character and bring thought and philosophy and psychology into it." Speaking to the idea that in absence of communication and good sex there's nothing left to keep two people together, Troche expanded on the tedium of daily life. "I think you have the daily grind left. You have the getting up, feeding the kids, getting them off to school; you have the routine of being a couple, which can get you through your life, actually. But I think you're dealing with a character here with this small metaphorical instance of being bonked in the head and just is like, 'This is not going to be what I'm going to be able to do anymore.'"
