L’Eglise abbatiale Notre-Dame de Morienval est une des plus vieilles églises de l’Oise Elle est enfoncée dans la forêt et bien grande pour la petite bourgade Elle est surtout Romane, reprise d’une église carolingienne, mais elle inaugure les voûtes d’ogive qui préfigurent le début du gothique. Sa construction s’étale de 1050 à 1135. Ses dimensions estimées sont de 52m en longueur et d’environ 40m pour le clocher porche. Plutôt austère malgré les jolis chapiteaux de la nef, elle est égayée par la statuaire polychrome du 16ème et 17ème siècle. The Notre-Dame de Morienval abbey church is one of the oldest churches in the Oise. It is buried in the forest and very large for the small town. It is mainly Romanesque, taken from a Carolingian church, but it inaugurates the vaults of ogive which prefigures the beginning of the Gothic. Its construction extends from 1050 to 1135. Its estimated dimensions are 52m in length and approximately 40m for the bell tower porch. Rather austere despite the pretty capitals of the nave, it is brightened up by the polychrome statuary of the 16th and 17th century.
