Interview with the Vampire featuring River Phoenix [deepfake]

River Phoenix was set to play a key role in Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. River tragically passed away 4 weeks before he was due to start filming. Christian Slater was brought in to play the character and graciously donated his entire salary to River's favorite charitable organizations. As with all my projects, I mean no disrespect to the actors whose performances I've used as a foundation. I hope you enjoy another slice of what could have been. This particular project was rather time consuming simply due to the fact that Christian puts on glasses, lights up a cigarette and wears glasses for the majority of the shots. This meant I had to mask out the faces, glasses, cigarette as well as fingers and hands in order to have River appear to wear them while smoking (I had a small celebration when seeing the flame reflecting in the glasses). The end product doesn't really show how many hours went into trying to make this work, and I won't ever be satisfied really, however I'm pleased how it turned out given the limited time. I would have liked to have included additional shots, however with time as a constraint I chose to dial back the scope and limit it to this introduction sequence.
