Whenever a manufacturer deliberately makes something hard to repair, be sure to call them out. In May of 2023 I purchased a much better clipper from aliexpress. I've been using it for over a year now, and it's so much better. But save your clipper guards, as this new one does not have many, but the Wahl guards will fit the new clippers. I purchased the KM-802. There is another model there that does not look as nice. At the time of this writing, the KM-802 can be purchased for less than $20.00.
