Aesthetically the 480 looks like David Hasselhoff's Knight Rider hooked up with a Volvo in the 80's. The resulting marriage of Knight Rider and Volvo shocked the 1986 Geneva Motor Show crowd. Volvo deviated from their typical model design yet the distinguished Volvo grill remained. The 480 had a unique wedge shape, pop-up headlights, hatchback, and rear bucket seats that will remind you why I Love the 80's! Although less than 80,000 units were were produced, it was the beginning of the end for rear wheel drive at Volvo. A project Codenamed "Galaxy" started with the front wheel drive 480, a first from Volvo. Galaxy was a planned phased roll out of and entire front wheel drive platform to replace the rear wheel drive lineup.   The Volvo 480 Turbo came with Lotus designed suspension and a Porsche tuned engine. Here we have a very special model, the Collection, which was produced in a limited number of only 480 examples. This Collection is number 44 of 480 and one of the lowest mileage examples still in existence. Originally sold at Karl Theis Volvo in Munich, Germany on August 30, 1995 to Schnee Wine and Design of Reppenstedt, Germany. The original dealer serviced the Volvo for many years with a full maintenance file and service book. Maintenance receipts and inspection records show this vehicle stayed in Germany until 2015 when the first inspection record in Poland appears. The Polish history is documented with inspection records and maintenance receipts. The Volvo did make a trip to Italy in the spring of 1999 where the owner received a traffic ticket in Padua. Yes, the traffic ticket, original manuals, service book, receipts, and technical inspections go with the sale. Recent maintenance includes a suspension rebuild with Bilstein shocks and struts, CV Axle, and ABS sensor. This 1995 Volvo is shown in Dark Grey Metallic (Paint Code 323), Grey Carpet, and Migrano Grey Leather Upholstery. Rear seat passengers will sit comfortably in leather bucket seats, store their Sony Walkman in the middle console, and pop open a back window for air flow. While the 480 still retains analog gauges for Voltage, Oil Pressure, and Boost Pressure plus some of the funkiest door locks we've ever seen. Plenty of modern features keep you comfy including Air Conditioning and Heated Seats. Volvo wanted to make sure you were never in the dark and included a combination of pop-up halogen headlights, driving lights, fog lights, and rear fog lights. Music is played through a Blaupunkt Lausanne CD player and factory component speakers in the front doors.  Recent maintenance includes a fluid and filter change. A new battery was installed at Super Akumulatory of Krakow in September of last year.
