My favorite scene always makes my body chill! ripped and split from Blu-Ray this scene is great always the best as in the vein of Tarantula '55 Bill grew up on the classics as Tarantula not intended to be giant non the less keeping alive these homages. He was never a fan of blood, guts and gore. I like some of them of 60's-90's and a little more. Not nearly as much as this! That is not cheesy to me at all I get into it I have an imagination like Ray Harryhausen said grow old but never up in a sense love Willis O'Brien, Dinosaurs and The Lost World (1925) forever Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror this case giant spiders to end the world yeah! Bill didn't have the money my man Bill Rebane or ''Wild Bill'' even influenced Steven Spielberg and James Cameron! If he had the money man those spiders could of been even better he was talking about hydraulically controlled giant spiders one of the commentaries with the two versions I have of this movie, but as he said the whole film budget would of just been the cost of the effects alone, this is pretty bad ass my favorite scene! The part here when the Deputy is devoured whole to me this scene is horrific all that blood, the crushing and crunching sounds with the intense music a real monster movie when they were made the best under low-budgets Wild Bill was the man! I am not afraid of it but this part is so awesome this is how they use to make real Giant Monster Movies what more could anyone want not with fake C.G.I. I like practical effects, rubber monsters, split screen, blue screen and stop-motion. Things you can touch, feel and actually control. It actually took effort to make this spider and control it. This is the one on the crane even though built for free. It was made the same way as VW Beetle one but not built into the chassis. Chicken Wire, conduit, metal legs all welded together and then furred by some local ladies. Bill hated those two bubbles as he called them with a passion, lol those stupid white globe eyes Bob Millay created for the spider. So to get this thing moving people had to be inside to move the legs. Someone to pull victims up their inside the gaping maw where the fangs are tucked under their as well. Someone to move the fangs then someone inside with a bucket of blood. I think this one had a total of 8 people inside. Four on the legs that means one person can do to two legs at once. Then one for the blood, one for fangs and one to pull victim inside I think Bill said it had about 7 to 8 inside enjoy!
