New Orleans was at one time one of the main hubs for slave trade in the country. One location this took place was the old Saint Louis Hotel & Exchange and there is still a piece of it that stands today. Update: in the video I stated the Civil War ended in 1863, however I believe I accidentally mixed the year of the Emancipation Proclamation with the end of the war which was actually in 1865.
