What are the pipeline steps in SAP PI PO AEX

The Pipeline is the way messages are being processed in SAP PI/PO. Each time a message is processed with be processed in that order. The Pipeline steps come from the XI dual-stack days. Here we had different programs responsible for the different processing in the ABAP stack for each time the message was split. We don’t really have the same approach in the new world because the flow is a bit leaner. We do still have the option for handling requests in different ways. There are some standard settings you can set on global level on your SAP PI/PO setting to count for this. Or on all ICO/IFlows you can also overwrite the values.
