Let him know in the comments! 10,000 BC - 5,000 BC: Beer is first discovered, and perhaps responsible for the formation of society. 3,000 BC - 500 BC: Ancient Egyptians drank beer daily, and it was often prescribed as Medicine. 1772 BC: Hammurabi's Code regulates daily rations of beer depending on status. c. 800 AD: Hops are first used to flavor beer. c. 1300: Beer shifts commercial production from home sin to pubs and monasteries. 1516: Reinheitsgebot, the German Beer Purity Law states that water, barley, and hops are the only three ingredients in beer. c. 1760: George Washington writes down his own recipe for beer in his journal. 1810: First Oktoberfest 1933: First beer can introduced. 1973: Miller Lite is introduced as the first mainstream light beer.
