When they suggested judo as an alternative since wrestling wasn’t part of the Paralympics, Anthony didn’t hesitate. Within a few years, he rose to the top, becoming the number one judoka in the United States and competing internationally. Para sport transformed Anthony’s life, offering him a level playing field and the chance to travel the globe, embracing new cultures and challenges. Anthony's journey hasn’t been without hardship. Losing his brother, his hero, was a devastating blow, but his brother’s memory continues to drive him. His commitment to his family, including his wife and new baby, fuels his determination. Despite the obstacles, Anthony remains grounded, believing that God doesn’t give anyone more than they can handle. Para sports provide a community and a sense of belonging for those with disabilities, reminding them they’re not alone. Through hard work and perseverance, Anthony shows that it's all about trying and pushing forward. Although an unfortunate knee injury has delayed his dream of competing in Paris 2024, Anthony’s story is far from over.
