How to change the oil in a 2016 Toyota 4Runner. These 4Runners are not the easiest vehicles to change the oil in the first time. Due to being off road capable. They have a few skid plates you have to remove. Once you have done it and understand how they go together it is much easier. Although I can still change the oil in my diesel truck a little faster. We have had our 4Runner since 2016 and could not be happier with it. We plan to keep it for a very long time. Therefore I want to ensure it is highly maintained. I hope it last forever! Although I know it won’t. It is also my wife’s daily driver so I want to know it’s safe and ready to get her and my daughter around. Personally I prefer to maintain my own vehicles. It gives me piece of mind going down the road with my family. I have had wonderful experiences from dealers, but also horrible. A time or two over the years. I have had puddles of oil in my driveway after getting the oil changed at a dealership. If I do it myself I know it’s done correctly. There are wonderful service shops and dealers out there. I just like to do it myself. On my vehicles I can change the oil, clean up, put the old oil in a container to recycle, and take a shower in the time it would take me to get a oil change at a dealership. It is a big time saver for myself to change my own oil. One of the biggest advantages is the money you save. Often you can get better quality oil and filters and still come out cheaper. Even when I use Mobile 1 synthetic and Wix filters. Especially if you shop around for your oil. Walmart is by far the cheapest place to get oil I have found. Although there filter selection is mostly Fram. Changing your own oil is not for everyone. Some do not have everything they need or anywhere to do it. For myself it is a way of life. Taking pride in the things you have worked so hard for. As well as maintaining them to the best of your ability. I just hope to help others who also want to DIY!
