This is the full original Area music from Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland, used from Jan 1993 until Feb 2022. This loop is nearly one hour, and features many re-orchestrations of many classic instrumentals from Walt Disney Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphony cartoons from the 1920's, 30's, and 40's. It fit perfectly in this cartoon town. This was the eighth themed land at Disneyland and the second to be built outside of the railroad berm. The first was Bear Country in 1972. I am a huge fan of the theming in this land. It is meticulously detailed to make you believe you have stepped into a cartoon. One side is the Mickey and friends neighborhood, featuring the cartoon homes of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and in this version, Chip & Dale. Mickey and Minnie have fun and detailed walk thru's in their houses, that let you meet the famous mice themselves. These are still enjoyed by guests today. Donald's Boat is smaller but includes a kids play area and formerly let you climb to the upper level for a birds eye view. Sadly the upper level has been closed since the 2022-23 renovation. Goofy's Bounce House was enjoyed by children from 1993 until 2006, which included a themed yard and a Goofy scarecrow. Sadly it was watered down a bit in 2006 when the bouncing element was removed for Goofy's Playhouse, allegedly for safety reasons. In 2023, it became Goofy's How to Play Yard with a more elaborate kids play structure and "candy" machine inside. From 1993-1998, Chip and Dale's Treehouse featured a slide and acorn ball pit. This was also allegedly removed for safety reasons, and from 1998-2022 this Treehouse limped on (No slide or ball pit) as possibly Disneyland's absolute shortest and least exciting "attraction". Thankfully it was cleared in the remodel. The Jolly Trolley used to shuttle guests between Mickey's neighborhood and Downtown Toontown between 1993 and 2003. Allegedly removed for safety reasons, the ride was only a few minutes but did add nice kinetic energy missing since. The Downtown area is largely inspired by Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This 1988 film is the inspiration for Toontown and the dark ride, Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin. This is a fun ride that follows Roger and Jessica Rabbit as they escape the Weasels and Dip, a toxic substance that kills toons. Downtown also used the feature Gag Factory store, now a second C Ticket dark ride, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. Additionally, there are several interactive elements such as talking characters in the post office, explosions in the fireworks factory, and various sound effects from the crates near the Roger Rabbit exit. There are also a few quick service eateries nearby. At the far eastern end next to Roger Rabbit originally, was a façade inspired by the one nearby for it's a small world, shown at 11:08. This was because the small world show building has always been right next to Toontown, so Imagineers installed this transitional façade to hide the massive small world show building. Over the next several years, trees grew in that space, so this façade was no longer needed by the 2000's and was repainted green to blend in with the trees. I really love this classic area music. Although I think they did a good job with some of the 2023 remodel, I definitely like this a lot better than the current Toontown music and wish for its return, albeit expanded to include newer songs from the current loop. This music is nostalgic for me as I heard it a lot growing up. The various rotating pictures are in chronological order. All of them were found at various sources on the internet, except the 2 from 2005 which were taken by my dad. I am really glad to pay tribute to the original Mickey's Toontown music in this video. I hope you enjoy it! I do not own any of the audio or most of the images used in this video. All of this audio is owned by Disney, not me. All images are owned by their respective owners. All pictures taken between 1993-2015.
