We are back riding bikes at Fromme! Stoked on that, it feels like it's been forever since I had the chance to ride my bike. Even weirder how long it's been off the bike while I'm completely uninjured or my bike isn't in the shop or stolen, haha! Nearly 4 weeks no bike time and the poor thing has been sitting out there on our verandah in the rain. Stuie and I started things off nice and easy, with the amount of snow and water still around, we figured riding easy trails that drain well would be the way to go. Plus, not too keen to jump into my first ever time riding Fromme's double black trails while it's pouring rain and miserable. It was a fun one. We warmed up on the always popular Bobsled, this blue flow trail has something for every one, jumps, berms, drops, rollers, flat turns and awesome fun. It seems there are more and more side options to hit on this trail now than there was before, lots more little hops and jumps to do. It was a hoot rolling down there, the conditions, while not great, on trail were surprisingly decent. With plenty of grip coming from the dirt sections and the wooden bridges, tree roots and logs were like ice ice baby! Next up we hit Expresso, a single black flow trail and man I think I've ridden this trail all but one time I've come up here, it's so much fun. It reminds me of home a little bit, with a decent amount of flow as well as some super challenging side hits, I'm still yet to ride the first rock feature on this trail, it seems I come here when there isn't much option to go anywhere else because of the weather, at least through winter anyway, that I've not had the confidence needed to line up a feature like that in the pouring rain, and for the first time. Is what it is though, I'll get there eventually, I don't doubt that. The remainder of the trail was riding well too. I pulled up for a stretch hop between 2 braking bumps and heard a massive crunch noise on the landing, I'm hoping it's from smoking my pedal on a rock, but it didn't sound great haha. Whoopsie. Very fun, very exciting. I also included some of the Baden Powell highlights this time too, I'm trying to show a bit more of my personality and some more of our rides that isn't just me going downhill. First we had a good track stand waiting for the lovely ladies to cross the foot bridge, Any excuse to practice my balance, I'm there with bells on. I love practicing these skills and do so at any chance I get. Next up we have the difficult climb that the Baden Powell offers, I get thought mostly clean, with a small foot dab on the first big tree root. Better luck next time kid. Lastly I've included the rock section near the Fromme car park end of the Baden Powell, I love riding this part, it's always a challenge and the scenes are super beautiful though there. Lastly and most certainly not least though, we have Floppy Bunny. This single black diamond flow trail is close to my favourite trail on the Fromme mountain so far, it's got a wicked flow, some awesome fun features that aren challenging without being scary. I particularly enjoy the drop in and first 2 straights. So much fun rolling down these big wooden coasters, to lining up a fun series of jumps and berms. Awesome stuff. I'm so stoked to be on the horse again, I've missed riding a lot. It's been kinds sucky since being here, I've had to really go in bursts of riding, I hurt my knee which took me out for about 6 weeks, my bike was stolen, the frame cracked so multiple weeks waiting for that be replaced and then reassembled at the mechanics and now with so much snow, everywhere is covered over in snow. We're finally getting some rain now so the white stuff is starting to wash away. I've not too much enjoyed being forced into so much time off the bike. I also haven't gone out of my way to practice my skills either, it's lame practicing them in the car park building. I've done it a couple of times now, I need to bite the bullet and get in there and focus on myself though. Hell yea friends, we love bikes. Enjoy! Socials!
