I've been making my own handmade Christmas crackers for quite a while now. I started out making paper ones , then went to fabric. They were always much nicer than the ones that you can buy in the shops as you can put something nice inside, instead of the little plastic bits that just end up thrown out. Last year I found this method of making them from a lady who has a blog called So Easy Quilts. They are the absolutely best handmade fabric crackers! The velcro adds the right amount of 'pull', so even if you don't have a snap, they still work really well. After making this tutorial I realised that maybe Christmas crackers were somewhat of a UK tradition.
