Did you know Lugol's can stain your teeth? But how/why? Is this permanent? How do we prevent this? All questions answered in this video. Good news your teeth are not rotting away! Lugol's can stain the teeth where plaque is present, forming dark brown/yellow tartar (which can look gross!) This can be removed or scraped off during your next cleaning by your dental hygienist at your next dentist appointment. I thought it was very interesting how iodine mixes with tooth plaque to form dark yellow or brown tartar. What do you think? PREVENTION:: To prevent this add your iodine to 1/4 to 1 cup of water to dilute it.
