"It's time to D-D-D-D-Duel!" Most remember Yu-Gi-Oh for the absurd melodrama and risks it presented around a Children's Card Game. Though Kazuki Takahasi put more thought into Yu-Gi-Oh then a Card Game with often arbitrary rules. Ancient Egypt serves as the basis for the series. And is even the location of the ritual upon which Duel Monsters was based. Now, enter the shadow realm, once more, and see what Yu-Gi-Oh gets right about Ancient Egypt. (A simple warning. I have not seen Duel Monsters in over a decade. So expect a few mistakes. This is not a very serious analysis. Just an examination. I also decided not to use any footage from the Anime because I want this video to stay up. And last time I checked Yu-Gi-Oh footage was apparently contraband on Youtube.) ————— Music: Ask Again - "Our Footsteps in the Sand" (00:00-00:53) Frédéric Chopin — "Galop Marquis", preformed by Aya Higuchi (00:53-01:03) Turku, Nomads of the Silk Road - "Özlem" (01:03-08:02) Turku, Nomads of the Silk Road - "Kamar Barik" (08:02-09:52) THANASIS G - "Tsif Teteli Greek Electro" (09:52-17:02) Kevin MacLeod - "Crinoline Dreams" (17:25-17:55) ————— All copyrighted media, images, and music respective owner(s). ————— Sources: Pinch, Geraldine (oriental Institute, Oxford University).
