In this webinar, we review the themes and key messages from our monthly webinar programme. The session explores and reflects on some of the most important current issues in teacher education. When? Recorded on Thursday 19 March 2026, 12.00 – 13.15 (UK time). About the speakers Graham Stanley is the British Council's Teacher Development Lead, based in the UK. He has a M.Ed. in ELT & Educational Technology (University of Manchester, UK) and is Editor of Innovations in Education: Remote Teaching (British Council, 2015). Şirin Soyoz, PhD, is based in Istanbul, Türkiye, is an English teacher, teacher educator, and e-moderator. She is responsible for managing the Teacher Educator Community and Network for the British Council. She specialises in e-learning, research mentoring, and community building, and her research focuses on communities of practice, shared metacognition and artificial intelligence in education. Ellen Darling is Senior Manager for Research and Insight in English Language Teaching at the British Council and has over 30 years of international experience working as a teacher, teacher educator, CELTA Assessor, author and editor. She is based in Italy and has worked with learners and teachers in Spain, Colombia, Egypt, Morocco and Qatar. Her special interests are teaching young learners, continuing professional development and teacher education.
