10-speed transmission in Ford F-150 2015-2020 (10R80): Problems and myths

In this short video, I want to tell you a little about the problems with the 10-speed automatic transmission that Ford F-150 used in the 13th generation, in the last years (post 2018). This is a conventional automatic transmission but it has nothing to do with the more tough and reliable 6R80 in terms of technologies. Only names are alike. The 10R80 transmission was developed by Ford and GM in 2017 and used in a whole lot of cars. The number of reports is huge but actually it’s natural due to the amount of transmissions sold. I will tell you about the actual problems with these transmissions and also about the reasons of the issues and easy to avoid some of them. Please bear in mind that you should install all Ford updates and also change the fluid in these 10-speed automatic transmissions way more often than manufacturer recommends. Liked this video?
