How to Make Your Own Silicone Molds

I’ve been seeing reels and tiktoks about how to make silicon molds and it seemed easy enough so I thought I would give it a try my hand at silicon mold making. To be honest, this diy silicone mold was a lot more work than I anticipated. Every video I watched on how to make a silicone mold just kinda showed the ingredients but didn’t really go into the process. So here are somethings I wanna tell you before you make your own mold. You’re going to make a mess, you’re going to need color pigments (not paint) and you’re going to be stirring for a while. I wanted an easy mold that I could use for more that one thing so I chose to make my with keys I got from a craft store. When you’re thinking about your silicone mold think about what you want to use the diy mold for, will it be to make journal element or pieces to embolish objects like did to the pot at the end of this video. If you’re making something bigger you’re going to need a bigger mixture that what I’m making. This silicone chalk mold may or may not be considered budget crafting to some of you, to me this was more reasonable that getting a silicone molds for resin making kit and having to wait for it to cure. This was honesty made from things you may have around the house with the exception of the color pigment. This mold making did take me a couple of attempts to get right but hopefully if you follow my instructions you won’t have to struggle like I did.
