Shirley Bassey performs two songs on this clip: The first song is one of her hits titled, "For All We Know". While she is performing of caricature of her is being drawn by one of her guests. The second song, "Almost Like Being In Love" is performed while Shirley is skiing in a lake. She had to learn how to ski to complete this performance. The water looked cold, and she dumped quite a few times until she got the hang of it. NOTE: I was able to obtain better footage for the beginning of her performance, but unfortunately most of her song is with older footage. I tried to clean up both the video and audio as much as possible, but there is only so much one can do when the original video quality is very, very poor. ABOUT - For All We Know: "For All We Know" is a popular song originally written for the 1970 film Lovers and Other Strangers by Fred Karlin, Robb Wilson (Robb Royer) and Arthur James (Jimmy Griffin). It was originally performed by Larry Meredith. It was heard by Richard Carpenter of The Carpenters during an evening of relaxation at the movies while on tour. Carpenter decided it would be ideal for the duo. It became a hit for them in 1971. It also became a hit in the UK for Shirley Bassey in 1971. It peaked at number 6 during a 24-week chart run ABOUT - Almost Like Being In Love: "Almost Like Being in Love" is a show tune with music by Frederick Loewe and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. It was written for the score of their 1947 musical Brigadoon. The song was first sung by David Brooks and Marion Bell, in the Broadway production. It was later performed in the 1954 film version by Gene Kelly. LYRICS - For All We Know: Love, look at the two of us Strangers in many ways We've got a lifetime to share So much to say And as we go From day to day I'll feel you close to me But time alone will tell Let's take a lifetime to say "I knew you well" For only time Will tell us so And love may grow For all we know Love, look at the two of us Strangers in many ways Let's take a lifetime to say "I knew you well" For only timeWill tell us so And love may grow For all we know Strangers (, strangers, strangers) For all we know LYRICS - Almost Like Being In Love: What a day this has been What a rare mood I'm in Why, it's almost like being in love There's a smile on my face For the whole human race Why, it's almost like being in love There's a music of life seems to be Like a bell that is ringing for me And from the way that I feel When that bell starts to peel I would swear I was falling, swear I was falling Why, it's almost like being in love [Instrumental Break] The music of life seems to be Like a bell that is ringing just for me And from the way that I feel When that bell starts to peel I would swear I was falling, swear I was falling Why, it's almost like being in love
