Our abode for the trip was the picturesque 'Bungalows on the Bay', nestled on the serene shores of Chenay Bay. Located on the eastern side of the island, this resort was a haven of tranquility. For those weary of the all-inclusive travel trend, this place is a breath of fresh air. It encourages exploration, interaction, and immersion in the local culture. Our trip took an unexpected and delightful turn on the very first night. We had the pleasure of meeting the warm and welcoming owners of the resort. Our evening began with casual drinks at the resort bar and culminated in a night of laughter and stories at the Nauti Parrot. It was a testament to the island's hospitality and the genuine connections one can forge here. Armed with a sense of adventure (and a trusty jeep), we set out to explore the nooks and crannies of St. Croix. From the hoppy delights of Leatherback Brewing and Brew STX to the beachside vibes of Louie and Nacho's, Nate's Boathouse, and La Bahia. We reveled in the sunset views at Off the Wall, enjoyed the eclectic ambiance of The Fred, and felt the pulse of the island at Castaways. St. Croix, with its blend of natural beauty and vibrant culture, was a revelation. It's a place where you can lose yourself and find yourself all at once. For those seeking a laid-back island experience, devoid of pretenses and full of genuine moments, St. Croix is a must-visit.
