From a junior hitman to a supervillain who fights against Spider-Man, Hammerhead has come a long way. He is a prominent member of several villainous groups like an international crime syndicate called Maggia. Hammerhead is often found dressed in 1920s clothing and style, with a temper and head of steel, quite literally. This character made his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #113 and was created by writer Gerry Conway and illustrated by John Romita Sr. In this video, we will learn about Hammerhead’s origin in the comics, and also his tragic backstory, which made him the villain that he is today. We will also briefly discuss how his more enhanced form came to be after he was shot by an Adamantium Bullet. Although Hammerhead can be ruthless with his Tommy gun and head-butting, it all traces back to his father, who punished him with a hammer, giving him reason to join the mob. Even though this character isn’t as frequent in the comics, he has made a place for himself in the Spider-Man universe and has rightfully earned the title of a supervillain. In this video, we will explore the essential comics that Hammerhead has appeared in while also diving deep into his menacing character and grim actions. Let’s begin, shall we?
