Overwatch Lore Bytes - What was Blackwatch? (Lore and Speculation) | Hammeh

Overwatch's Blackwatch are somewhat of a story and lore mystery - who were they, what did they do, and how could they have been responsible for Overwatch's downfall? I explore their story in canon Overwatch lore here! -- After the First Omnic Crisis came to an end in Overwatch's world, Jack Morrison was promoted to Strike Commander of Overwatch, with Gabriel Reyes becoming Commander of Blackwatch - Overwatch's covert operations unit and wing. This caused a split between Morrison and his comrade-in-arms and friend, Reyes, that would ultimately contribute towards the downfall of the organisation they both built, and perhaps even problems in the world beyond it. Previously a secret group, as Blackwatch's (we assume) actions were cited in rumour, gossip and their existance was finally revealed to the world, some of their members played no small part in Overwatch's downfall. Who exactly were Blackwatch, beyond their leader, Commander Reyes - how did they fit into the operations of Overwatch, and perhaps bring peace to the world (in a different way), and what became of them after the downfall of Overwatch, following Reyes and Morrison's catastrophic battle in the Overwatch Swiss Headquarters? I explore in summary in this video! Do you think any other Blackwatch agents are out there in the world, acting like McCree - or are they all bit more of a shade of bad, like the Talon operatives with ties to Blackwatch that we seemingly see in McCree's Comic, Trainhopper?
