2023 SUMMER U.P. - "HOMESTRETCH - THE ART OF FINISHING LIFE WELL" Part 1 of 4 - Review and Discussion of Chapters 1, 2, & 3 Upcoming 2023 SUMMER U.P. installments: Jul. 30th - Chapters 4-5 Aug. 6th - Chapters 6-7 Aug. 20th - Chapters 8-9 This Sunday, UUFLB Board Member, Resident UU Seminarian and Starr King Divinity Student, Don West, Jr., brings us a look into "Homestretch - The Art of Finishing Life Well" written by a good friend of the UUFLB from nearby San Diego, CA, the Rev. Dr. Tom Owen-Towle. Ours is increasingly a world of elders. By 2050, the number is projected to grow to almost 2 billion, and, for the first time in human history, our world will have more people 60 and over than children under age 15. There exists a hunger in our current society to engage the difficult yet enlivening challenges of life’s homestretch. HOMESTRETCH: The Art of Finishing Life Well will assist seniors in balancing the core pursuits of solitude and quest, joy and service, surrender and legacy. Great things are happening at the UUFLB: building renovations, receipt of a 2023 Spirit Grant, and new members joining the Fellowship – we hope to see you all there on Sunday to welcome our newest members.
