Hi, welcome to Deaf Talks News. Diwali is the Festival of Lights. It is celebrated all over India. But did you know why it was celebrated ? Also there are two different stories followed in India. Long ago, Lord Rama went to the forest with his wife and brother for 14 years. He fought with srilankan king Ravana and won. He returned home to Ayodhya. People lit oil lamps to welcome him. It was a north Indian story. In south Indian Diwali is celebrated based on a different story. Lord Krishna the killed the king Narakasura. In that story Narakasuran troubled people and kidnapped women. Krishna killed him and freed the people. There are other controversial views also there. Some social thinkers, like Periyarists, say these stories may be symbolic. They argue that Narakasura’s story could have been used to show the power of Aryans over locals. So this priyarist dont celebrate Diwali in Tamilnadu. Even Tamilnadu CM Stalin is the follower of Pariyar and they dont celebrate. So, Diwali has different meanings in different regions. But people celebrate by sharing sweets and friends which is good. So all your life light shines and darkness goes away. Hope everyone understands the different story. Subscribe to Deaf Talks news.
