Exploring Pop-up Boutiques for Artists As an emerging artist, you may have heard of the concept of pop-up exhibitions "popping up" in the last decade. This idea came out of a need for increased accessibility to art and art spaces, all with a Do-It-Yourself philosophy. Have you ever wondered what it takes to have a successful popup? Watch as Montreal-based illustrator Cara Carmina shares her experience doing pop-up shops and events, and how both can contribute to advancing your artistic career. She is giving precious tips to emerging artists who want to start their own pop-up events to understand better what it needs. Cara Carmina also talks about the importance of supporting local artists and artisans. About Cara Carmina: Norma Andreu, better known as Cara Carmina, is a Mexican female contemporary textile artist / illustrator, designer, artisan, and cultural events producer who didn’t finish university and is self-taught in most of the things she does. Norma has lived in Montreal since 2009. For more information about her work and events, visit: http://www.caracarmina.com, / caracarmina , / caracarminaillustration
