Breaking: Chennai, Bengaluru Hotels Warn Of Closure Amid LPG Shortage; Govt Prioritises Households

Chennai and Bengaluru hotel associations have raised alarms over severe LPG shortages threatening immediate closures. The Chennai Hotels Association has written to Prime Minister Modi stating fuel supply will last only two days, while Bengaluru associations report stocks sufficient for just three days. Several Bengaluru restaurants may shut post-lunch tomorrow as commercial gas cylinders run empty. Government sources insist there is adequate LPG supply for at least 40 days and households need not panic. Officials confirm domestic households are the priority, with oil marketing companies directed to allocate LPG production to domestic users first, leaving commercial establishments facing shortages. The LPG waiting period has increased from 15 to 25 days.
