Samuel Thrysøe: Medical 3D Printing Innovating Patient Care through Customized Implants

Using a combination of 3D imaging and printing, the medical field has progressed to allow previously impossible procedures offering patients faster and improved healthcare where implants are no longer “one size fits all” but rather custom-fitted to the individual patients. Patients destined for early death, severe disability, and congenital heart problems can now be treated using 3D printed metal implants and biodegradable polymers. In this talk Samuel Thrysøe will present many examples of innovative medical treatments made possible by 3D printing technology. The talk was given at Aarhus University Digital Innovation Festival 2019.
