I hope you like the beautiful album art by Melrose Dowdy! This was my first time ever commissioning album art and it was such a wonderful experience seeing Garnet captured so magically. You can view more of their fantasy artwork here: 🎨 https://www.melrosedowdy.com/ 🎨 https://x.com/MelroseDowdy Some background on this album: FFIX is my absolute favorite game of all time (shocker) and is essentially the reason I ended up playing harp. I started by tinkering around with Roses of May on the piano, which led to me wanting actual music lessons, and here I am today, playing the very instrument that was the harbinger of Cleyra's catastrophic destruction. See, when the strings on my harp break, it's usually just from fluctuations in humidity, but every so often, I wonder if Odin's sword will come plunging into my house someday. I trust that my dog will escape in a black mage pod and avenge me. I'll admit, this album is a bit bittersweet for me because not every track I wanted to do is here (Roses of May, Not Alone, Melodies of Life.....also, Vamo alla Flamenco needs to be rerecorded). As many of you are already aware, I've been struggling with ongoing wrist tendonitis problems from the harp. The issue is gradually improving, but as a result there are some more complex songs I need to stay away from for now. I've decided to instead focus on what I CAN do and release the album as Volume 1, and hopefully I get to a point where I can release a Volume 2 with those other tracks included. So your understanding is much appreciated in the meantime. Regardless, I'm extremely proud of what I was able to do, and I really do hope you enjoy this tracklist. Every single track here had very significant meaning to me. Even Daguerreo, which generally evokes memories of being completely broke upon exiting the town, and then getting nuked by a dragon.
